One swap answers one question

Move the suspected ignition component only after marking its original position, then reproduce the same idle, cold-start or load condition while watching cylinder counters.

If the count stays on cylinder 1, stop swapping. The result now directs attention toward the plug itself, injector delivery, a runner leak or mechanical sealing.

Oil ash, raw-fuel wetness, unusual cleaning and excess gap do not support the same repair. Compare plug 1 with another cylinder from the same bank.

Truck load exposes weak ignition

Towing or climbing raises cylinder pressure and may reveal a plug gap or coil that looks normal at idle. Capture the original load from freeze data.
